A New Leaf

Platanenblatt – Solidarity Olive Oil

Dear Platanenblatt community,

Sometimes a new chapter begins exactly where you least expect it. After many shared years with Prokopis and his grove on Lesbos, this chapter of Platanenblatt is coming to an end. We thank Prokopis for the long time together and for everything that grew during those years.

And because a leaf is not only part of a tree but also a page you can turn, we are delighted to open a new one with you: from the 2026/27 harvest onwards, our olive oil will come from the grove of the Kontogiannis family. The family has farmed at the foot of Ancient Corinth on the Peloponnese for generations – and strictly biodynamically since 2006.

What stays the same

The most important thing first: nothing changes about the Platanenblatt model. It remains one grove, one family, one personal relationship – with harvest shares, pre-financing and shared responsibility, just as you know it. Our school project “Learning Space Olive Grove” continues as well: we are developing it further together with the Kontogiannis family at its new home.

What’s new

A new grove, new varieties, a character of its own – the oil of the 2026/27 harvest will have its own taste, shaped by the soil and climate of the Peloponnese. We look forward to discovering this oil with you, and we will introduce the Kontogiannis family to you step by step over the coming months.

The association

Platanenblatt e.V. will also evolve as part of this new chapter. As soon as anything concrete is decided, we will keep you posted.

We are looking forward to this new chapter – and to writing it with you.

Warm regards
Urte and Ralf
